Every passing year seems to bring countless men and women to the place of decision. We consider our lives and the steps we have trod throughout the years and we make decisions to change. Decisions that will hopefully lead us into the fulfilling life that we are all longing for.

For some, this means a commitment to quit smoking or drinking. For others it is beginning our diets all over again. Some commit to rigid exercise to help improve their health, while others vow to be a better person.

Whatever the commitment might be, these individuals have a common goal...to improve their way of life.

What if I told you that the goal of improving your life could be attained much easier if you concentrate on spiritual improvement rather than merely trying to improve yourself physically.

Would you being willing to listen if I told you that you could begin seeing God answer your prayers?

Would you listen if I told you that your life, your family and literally your world could become new in 2007?

Over the next few weeks, I am going to encourage you to join me in declaring that 2007 be The Year of Appointment at Morrison First B aptist Church.

B efore you sign-up, you may want to know what it means.

The Year of Appointment in a nutshell is this...You and I committing, together, to live our lives according to the command of God for the next 12 months.

What is God's command for my life as a believer?

God has ordained us, or appointed us for one simple task as believers. We have been appointed to take the Gospel of truth and spread it throughout the world. After all, this IS what Jesus is commanding us to do in The Great Commission which is found in Matthew 28:18-20.

So, partnering with me in 2007 would mean that you want to live your life in such a way that the Gospel of Truth will be spread through out the world.

Is this idea even possible?

I believe it is! Here is how

We are going to attempt to accomplish this task together.

We will begin a Share Your Faith Class on January 7th to help you learn how to tell others about Jesus.

We will host a One-Day Revival in January to help you invite your friends and loved ones to church.

We will participate in 1 local, 1 state-wide, 1 national, and 1 international mission trip this coming year. (Hopefully you can join us for one).

B eginning Jan. 7th, during the evening service we will begin to share tips on how to live out your faith at Church, in the community and in your own homes.

We will commit together to bring at least one person each month to church who needs to know Christ as their Savior or who needs to renew their commitment to Him.

Sounds like a lot doesn't it?

It is….but I have a feeling that there are some people out there who have felt like I have on more than one occasion. We watch year after year go by and we are ready! We are tired of just going through the motions! We want to become who the B ible says we can become. We want to do what the B ible says that we can do. We want to have what the B ible says that we can have!

Are you ready!?!

Here are some quick tips to help you prepare your heart for what lies ahead:

B e sure that you ‘re a Christian

Have no unconfessed sin in your life

B e sure you are Holy Spirit filled

B e prepared

Pray

GO...GO...GO...GO

Focus on Christ
